TLDR

I redesigned Grammy-nominated artist Kiazi Malonga’s website to better reflect his artistic brand and vision. Using a 100% AI-driven workflow with ChatGPT and Figma Make, I translated his creative vision into a cohesive new site.

BACKGROUND/PROBLEM

Designing Beyond Surface-Level UI

Kiazi Malonga is a world renowned and Grammy-nominated musician. His old site was functional, but its UI didn’t match his artistic identity. The bigger issue was unclear calls-to-action, each page lacked a clear purpose.

The redesign needed to address both aesthetic alignment and strategic clarity.

Defining the Brand Vocabulary

Kiazi came in with a strong vision and multiple reference sites. My role was to extract the common aesthetic language from these sources. I mapped this against his brand values and goals to guide the redesign.

DESIGN PROCESS

Turning Vision into Reality with AI

Used ChatGPT + Figma Make to generate layouts aligned with Kiazi’s references. Process included: PRD → AI-assisted generation → manual refinement. This project emphasized sophisticated visuals and clear CTAs per page. In this project, I had more experience working with Figma Make and knew better when to prompt myself, prompt with ChatGPT, or just code manually.

AI as a Creative Partner, Not a Shortcut

Overall, I still prefer working in frames and components instead of prompts but when it comes to shipping a product, there’s no competition. Even if we only compare them as design tools, I find that Figma Make outshines manual Figma for responsive design, prototyping, and animating
